The process is not that difficult, so I’m gonna demonstrate it with screenshots below. :)
IMPORTANT! This is not a beginner tutorial, it only might make sense, if you already have a little experience in Blender/making CC.
Make sure the part, which will later be the transparent/seethrough part is on a whole new and separated mesh-part.
Which means, if you switch off the visibility (the little eye icon) on the other mesh parts, you only see the lace skirt.
You need to move the UV of this mesh to the extra zone on the Texture map. (This is the place where extra accessories go.) If you don’t know where this ‘extra parts’ section is, see this file. Feel free to save it, and use it when you are about to move the UV to the right place.
This is how it looks in S4S. Don’t be surprised, if it’s not yet see-through, it won’t be in S4S, nor in Blender, you will only be able to see the final result in TS4.
Now go to the Warehouse tab, and look for the right geometry. We are looking for the seperated skirt mesh part. There it is! (If you’ve already made all the LODs, you will find more of this geometry, make sure you set the next step to all of them.)
And finally, you have to set the Shader to Simglass. This will make this mesh part transparent. This means, if your texture is for example a lace texture and is in png format, it will look the same in game, meaning it’s see through, has no background.
Hope this was helpful, if something is not clear, feel free to ask away! If it’s about basic meshing, I won’t answer it, you can find plenty tutorials for beginners on the S4S forum. Link in my FAQ.
