Introduction
This tutorial will show you how to use Sims 4 Studio's color picker feature to get colors from your item added to the item's swatch thumbnail. It will not go over how to make the item...it is only showing how to make the swatch thumbnails. Although this tutorial uses a painting as the example item the exact same process will work for CAS, walls, and floors.
What you will need
Sims 3 Studio 2.5.0.3 or above
Instructions
- Make your recolor or add your new mesh diffuse image. Right mouse click in the first Swatch Thumbnail Colors box.
- A small eyedropper icon will appear.

- Move the eyedropper over your item in the model viewer.
- You will see the color in the box change as you move the eyedropper around. When a color you like shows in the box use the left mouse button to select it and turn the eyedropper off. Repeat for the other Swatch Thumbnail Color boxes for the swatch thumbnail. Repeat for each swatch thumbnail and save.

- The eyedropper will work on any part of your Studio screen. If you have chosen a color for one swatch thumbnail and you want to use it on another just put the eyedropper over it to select it when you're choosing the color for the second swatch thumbnail. You can also use the eyedropper on the small copy of your diffuse image that shows in the Texture area.
