Hello All,
Today I am going to give you a basic tutorial on how to make eyeliner for the sims 4 using the sims 4 studio and photoshop cs 6. for photoshop you will need the Nvidia DDS plugin, which can be downloaded here:developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop
first thing you are going to do is make a project folder, name it whatever you want,
second, you need a template, so download the female face texture i extracted here:www.mediafire.com/download/f2m827rhe72t276/Yf_Face.dds
open s4s and create a recolor, from the drop menu select the eyeliner category, and select the first one at the top.
next extract the eyeliner texture and save it in your project folder as Texture. Now open both of the textures in photoshop. go to the yf head texture and make a new layer. select that entire layer, and fill it entirely black using the marquee tool, by first pressing Ctrl M, then Ctrl A to select the whole thing, right click, fill, black. there is a ruler on the left, click and drag the ruler to the center of the screen, it should snap to center automatically when you are close enough. now edit the opacity of that black layer to 64%, the opacity editor is right above the box on the lower right side where the layers are.
once you have done that, use the paintbrush to make a line going across the top of the eye so it looks like this.
once you have made that line you can now use the smudge tool to bend it to your will.
i decided to go for a winged look so i smudged the outer corner to make a swoop, and smudged the inner corner down just a bit, so it looks like this.
now we can see how we like our eyeliner in s4s, so copy the entire top layer again, and paste it onto the alpha of the eyeliner texture., then save it as a DDS, DXT5 format. you should get a box like this.
now simply import it to s4s. and see how it looks.
If you are satisfied with the way your eyeliner looks, we can do the other eye now. it is very simple. go back to the eyeliner texture. select the left side of the alpha with the marquee, then press Ctrl C to copy it, right click, select inverse, then press Ctrl V to paste the image, right click again and press free transform. right click again, flip horizontally, then press enter to finalize. simply save the image and import it to s4s, your basic eyeliner is finished! if you want to make it in different colors, simply select Layer 0 with the marquee and fill it any color you want. then save that and import it as another swatch. your eyeliner should look similar to this in s4s
