So i’ve also been wanting to make this tutorial for a bit now as well but of course I had no time. Anyway i’ve only ever seen one other tutorial which was kinda complicated and involved alpha channels so I came up with my own way of doing it! I think this way is v easy tbh. Tutorial under the cut.
Note: The steps for gimp and Photoshop are exactly the same, however the location of different tools and menus may be different depending on which program you use.
Step 1: Open up your clothing texture in Gimp/photoshop
Step 2: Using the select by colour tool,(or fuzzy select in ps) select any part of the image that is TRANSPARENT (is checkered basically) (you’ll probably have white ones in PS)
Then while the background is still selected, under the select menu click invert so that the main texture is selected.
Step 3: Change the foreground colour to #dedfde. You can decide to make this colour darker if you want a more intense shadow.
Step 4: Under edit, click stroke selection (or just stroke in PS)
