So! You need to make a specular map- you don't need anything fancy but, you need a basic one- don't hit that 'make blank' button!
Start with your finished texture, including your updated Alpha Channel. If you can't see this menu go to WINDOW>Channels.

- Specular Maps need to be 512x1024- that's half the size of your Diffuse or Base Texture. Resize your texture now!

- Once resized, CTRL + CLICK on the Alpha Channel to select all the white parts. CTRL+C to Copy or EDIT>COPY,

- Go to your spec.mask.dds, you should be able to export the specular from your item and get a .mask.dds and a regular .dds file. If you already hit 'MAKE BLANK' just get one from another mesh! Shift+CTRL+V or go to EDIT>Paste Special>Paste in Place. I already hid it but, the mask is in Layer 1.

- CTRL + CLICK on Layer 1(your mask) Using the paintbrush with SOLID white fill in that selected space. I do it this way because every other way I get crunchy or pixely edges. HINT! You can make your color selections SOLID Black and SOLID White by hitting those two little squares.

- File>Save As - Save your NEW Spec mask over the old one. Now we can do the regular the same way but, with different colors.

- On the RGB Layer use the eyedropper to get the right shade of green and use a shade of black for your mask (the lighter it is the shinier the texture in game, use something #020202). You also need to update the ALPHA channel on this separately. Believe it or not these are two shades of black #000000 for the background and #030303 for the masked area. Use the same Paste in Place and CTRL+Click and brush tool to get nice clean edges.

- Upload your new specular map! The box to the right should look like this but, with your ALPHA mask. You can click from the Diffuse to the Specular to see if someone bothered to update them by which parts are being used.
