dish: how to recolour something that isn’t white difficulty: easy as long as you already know basics like how to use s4studio etc.ingredients:- photoshop (please do not ask me where to get photoshop)- a dds plugin for your photoshop if you’re using dds textures- the texture of the item you want to recolour - optional - topaz denoise (please do not ask me where to get topaz)if you have any issues, please feel free to ask questions only about this tutorial (preferably off anon so i can help you easily) - please don’t ask about how to obtain programs or operate s4studio :-( google is your best friend!method: 1. open up your texture in photoshop - make sure it’s fairly easy to see the shadows you wanna keep (ideally don’t use a black shade) 2. make that sucker black and white by going into the little black and white circle down in the layers panel and chooseblack & white3. time to go back to the little circle but this time select levels - this will control how light your highlights and how dark your shadows arei usually move the white arrow as far left as i can get away without it looking weird, the grey arrow a little bit to the right, and the black arrow a little bit to the right - my settings won’t necessarily work for you so mess around!and that’s it - you can basically flatten it and start recolouring using that as your base :-)if you’re finding it looks a bit pixel-y and you have topaz denoise feel free to do the following optional step4. run topaz denoise to smoothen the texture a bit - i don’t mess with the setting i just increase the overall strength by like 0.8 or whatever looks correct (before is on the left, after denoise is on the right)hope this helped guys!! enjoy ur freshly baked cc :-)
